Meditate on Music Part oNE

Since i have moved in to my new studio i have had a huge burst of creativity. This is part one of a new series of work all off the back of a record sleeve I have designed for Collocutor soon to be released but for the moment a secret. Inspired by modal jazz music and my favourite jazz artists these 4 pieces are the start of what hopefully will build up in to a larger series ready for a exhibition!

Vibrate Higher

The Creator has a Masterplan Peace and happiness to everyman - Pharaoh Sanders

Sound of Joy

Birthday Commission

I was commissioned to do a special birthday piece by Felix Dickenson for his wife Jennifer. It was a piece inspired by the couples loves and it was a joy to do!

PolkaPants

After banging on about how I hate a uniform polkadot and am much more in favour of a free jazz version : ) i was asked by one of my dearest friends to design her signature polkadot for her amazing lady chef trousers PolkaPants and here is me having a big old arty pose in them! Ladies let me tell you...you need a pair! chef or not these are the most comfortable and flattering trousers 🍑 Not only are they made in london and made to last so for any of you who make and do stuff they are perfect! and i were mine all the time!

And here she is! my best friend and chef trouser inventress in all her polka pant glory

CIEN artisanal gin

I was asked to create a original painting that would be cut up and used as labels for Pintura's Gin. The bottle is to celebrate the 100th gin in Pintura's Gin bar.

The idea was that every bottle would end up having a different label. Something original! and if you put all he bottles together you cool make the whole painting

All the bottles have sold out but there is still a chance to win the last one if you head over to their FB page here

Once upon a time in Japan

So proud to show you this one! I was asked to do the artwork for the 'Once upon a time in Japan' Comp compiled by Brawther and Alixkun. It was a dream to work on with such rich pickings when it comes to inspiration in ancient Japanese art. The sleeve was made of recycled card so it gives it a really nice old feel and texture

Brawther and Alixkun present a collection of 15 underground Japanese house tracks from the early days of electronic dance music, back when the genre was sweeping across the globe. Ahead of a related documentary project titled 'HOUSE' in Japanese characters, the compilation is the first to showcase the works of Japanese house on an historical and global level, with classics and rare-as-a-hen's teeth tracks. Carefully selected by Brawther and his sidekick Ailxkun, this is a nectar of deep grooves and blissful melodies that form the blueprint of the Japanese House Sound. Legends like Soichi Terada, Yukihiro Fukutomi or The Ecstasy Boys are back to back with unsung hearoes like Takecha, Magic Ware or Katsumi Hidano. Aimed at the house music lover and overall music enthousiasts, this compilation is the one stop shop of all things early Japanese House, unveiling the mystery behind it all and shining a brand new light on it, dusted and remastered, for your listening pleasure.

Autumn Goddess

A little celebration of Autumn and the time the green goddess turns auburn. This piece had a little bit of gold and metal leaf as well as some cut outs to give it a 3D effect

Help make PALATE possible! 10 days to go.

Hello! PALATE is a new quarterly food and art publication from the sisters behind The Bookery Cook.

The first 2 issues are ready to go to print, we just need some help to reach our Kickstarter goal. Funding which will cover production costs, as we’re aiming to print and distribute PALATE ourselves.

Pledges start at £5 for a digital copy, £13 for a printed copy, £49 for printed annual subscription - plus many other options. We would be incredibly grateful for any help!

Each edition is 56 pages of edible and visual delight, with recipes developed by us and illustrated by artists from around the world. For a full list of recipes and artists, see the PALATE project page.

Here is my illustration for the Seafood Gumbo! It was easy to be inspired by this recipe and as you can see i was defiantly channeling some New Orleans vibe : )
