Its now safe to reveal that I was invited to do a 7inch sleeve design for the annual Secret 7 exhibition. The Exhibition was held in Somerset House in London. It was a very cool exhibition to be involved in with as they had some big names like Sir Peter Blake, Sir Paul Smith, David Shrigley and Yoko Ono!

The concept :

We take 7 tracks from 7 of the best-known musicians around and press each one 100 times to 7” vinyl. We then invite creatives from around the world to interpret the tracks in their own style for every 7”. 700 sleeves are exhibited and then sold for £50 apiece with all proceeds going to the chosen charity. You don’t know who created the sleeve, or even which song it’s for, until you have parted with your cash - the secret lies within.

This Year the charity chosen was Nordoff Robbins, Who are dedicated to transforming the lives of vulnerable children and adults through music therapy.

Since this was a one off original piece I could go a bit wild I decided to go with a mixed media paper cut vibe to create a 3D effect rather than it just being flat. I also included lots of gold leaf....of course : )

And here it is with its dedicated new owners : ) who have told me he queued up at 7am to get it!
